Football for kids aged 7

7–9 is football's 'golden age': skills are absorbed faster than ever. This is when technique is laid down — dribbling, passing, shooting, feints. We train in the Brazilian GINGA method: maximum touches on the ball and technique through play, not drilling.

What we train at 7

👟

Technique for real

Dribbling with both feet, first feints, accurate passes and shots. In GINGA each child gets maximum touches per session.

🧠

Thinking on the pitch

We teach children to see a team-mate, get open and make decisions — meaningful play, not 'kick and run'.

🏆

Tournament practice

Regular children's tournaments, with the game reviewed in the next sessions: what worked and what to improve.

Starting from scratch at 7 isn't too late

On the contrary: it's one of the best ages to start. The 'golden age' for learning technique is only just beginning, we take children without selection, and the group is picked by age and level — the child settles in fast. A detailed breakdown by age is in "What age to start your child in football", and on the method — "The GINGA Brazilian method".

Frequently asked questions

Why is age 7 called the 'golden age' for football?

At 7–9 a child's brain and body absorb movement skills faster than at any other age. Technique is laid down now: dribbling, passing, shooting, ball control. So 7 is an ideal moment both to start and to move on to more serious training.

My child is starting from scratch at 7 — is it too late?

Not at all — it's one of the best ages to start. We take children without selection; the group is picked by age and level. The 'golden age' for learning technique is only just beginning, and the child quickly catches up.

How do sessions fit around school?

Sessions run to a schedule a few times a week and last 45–60 minutes: in Khimki on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, in Moscow at Capitol Mall. Sport helps a schoolchild — it releases energy after lessons and builds discipline and time management.

What is the GINGA method and what does it give a seven-year-old?

GINGA is the Brazilian approach to learning: maximum touches on the ball, technique through game tasks, freedom and improvisation instead of drilling. At 7 it's especially effective — the child learns feints and ball control at the age when they stick for life.
